About Me:
Adrian Castle is my Pen Name & so unless you ask me why it will just be so

Adrian is married to her husband, Don, has a son named Sean who just graduated from Central Illinois University in downstate Illinois. and have a Springer Spaniel / Beagle / Labrador mix named 'Boy'

She was interested in the medical field, at a very young age due to being exposed to her parent’s books that were from their careers in the U.S. Navy. Adrian's mother met her father when she was studying to become a nurse and her father was a corpsman, (which is the equivalent to an army medic). Her biggest inspiration came from her Aunt Mary, who was an RN, was the administrator of a nursing home and had taken care of her great grandmother, until her passing.

Adrian says, in the first grade, when playing with her friends next door, that she used to dress up as a nurse, with a nurse's navy blue cape and white cap with a red cross on it with a nurse's bag that had a stethoscope and the works. She would pretend that she was really a nurse and dreamed for many years about the day she would grow up and become one. In those days, Adrian remembers as youngsters all she wanted to do is hurry up and be an adult and yearned to be with the rest of the 'big people' and do the things 'big people' did. Growing up was painful Adrian recalls that she and her playmates were encouraged more to stay outside and play. She attributes having great childhood memories to that but feels on the other hand, was overprotected.

Adrian's family moved around every year, as military families often did. It wasn't hard, as she recalls, now and may have been totally different story if she was older. She tends to forget some painful memories and knows in particular, it was hard to part with her classmates. Although, childhood seemed normal enough for being as such, having it have been at any other age may have been difficult.

In high school, it had grown harder for Adrian to study with all the distractions and peer pressure. Her father was retiring from the Navy then. Her grandfather had passed away, tragically. There was a lot of stress in a family with 5 other siblings. Adrian got through high school and was lucky to graduate with her class. Adrian and a girlfriend of hers dreamed of being veterinarians.

Shortly after high school and being her own, she had taken jobs like, waiting on tables, sales clerk in department stores, file clerk and finally a camp counselor. During those days of taking odd jobs to making a living, Adrian found out, in her travels, that best friend from high school had passed away from a stroke, while sitting with her cousin in her front yard. Dreams crushed, she moved on to the future with different plans, was fortunate to get in a LPN program at a junior college in River Grove, Illinois. She did well and when it came to testing for her nursing license, had tested among the highest, in her class.

Disillusioned, after working in several medical surgical units in hospitals starting at the V.A. Medical Hospital in Palo Alto, California to Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois and not finding satisfaction in her career as a nurse, Adrian found herself going to beauty school to try out her creative side. She went through the school and after graduating there went through teacher's training for a year. She tried her hand at salons, family hair cutting establishments and decided it wasn't for her but kept all three licenses active with the nursing, beauty culture operator and beauty culture teacher. Returning to the nursing field, at last, Adrian found that she loved being a charge nurse in a nursing home, in Chicago and stayed, until she could not work, due to a hip, that was going bad.

After a few surgeries on her hip and 12 years of suffering Adrian finally had total hip surgery done. Prior to the hip surgery she was told that she was too young for such a surgery and understood what the premise was behind what she had been told. While being disabled, Adrian was given an opportunity to operate a business from home. She become a licensed consultant with a legal service that offered memberships to have access to the legal insurance, that provides attorneys and benefits in all 50 states also some provinces in Canada. She has been a legal services consultant with a limited insurance producer's license for 5 years and feels partially fulfilled.

Adrian states that if it hadn't been for my mother, who had given her children a strong work ethic and set the standard of getting her Master's degree in Education in Dental Hygiene, she would probably have set herself up and stayed in a comfort zone without forging ahead. Because of her background, possibly genetic make-up, experience and other environments Adrian has been through the course of her life, she has always known that she would love research, laboratories and furthering her medical career. She figured that her love for animals, medicine and loving 'justice for all', (because of her present career), that she would have a perfect fit with criminal justice as her chosen profession and be positioned into the forensics field somehow. Adrian hopes that because of her love in these areas, with the encouragement of people (like the Virginia State Chief Medical Examiner, and Author, Patricia Cornwell--- who a few years ago was encouraging people to go into the Medical Forensics Field), that she will whole-heartedly pursue higher education beyond graduate school .
